Kitchari Burger

Recipe for Kitchari Burger

Green Goddess Kitchari Burger

Ingredients – makes 6 medium-sized patties

Burger Patty

2 cups leftover Spinach kitchari, chilled

4 scallions

1/2 cup dill, finely chopped

1⁄4 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats (gluten-free, if necessary), ground

1 tbsp. ground flaxseed

1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil

1 large egg (optional, leave out for vegan burgers)/ 1 tbsp. flax seed

Burger Sauce

1 tbsp. Dill

2 tbsp. Mayo

½ Dill Pickle, finely diced

1 tbsp.. pickling juice

 

Burger buns of choice

Optional Add-ins: thick slice of tomato/lettuce

Method

  1. Combine the mixture and make 6 balls. Flatten in to patties. Sear both sides in a hot pan until a golden crust forms
  2. Combine Burger sauce ingredients
  3. Assembly: Toast bun, tomato and lettuce if using, burger, slather burger sauce, fasten with toasted bun top
