We are friends and mothers raising our families amidst the hustle of New York City. Over the years, looking after our families has meant that Ayurveda has made quite the comeback into our daily lives. At home, there’s often some combination of feeling under the weather, over-indulging, the after effects of busy routines, or just a little off-mood. This is when Grandma’s solutions come in to play. Adding a little breathing exercise, a bowl of Kitchari, a glass of warm spiced chai and some sweet fennel seeds after a heavy dinner, we’ve seen those smiles emerge. That’s why we felt so committed to sharing Ayurveda the way we use the knowledge in our everyday lives— it’s how we both grew up, and it’s how we’ve raised our own kids.
After putting our Ayurvedic and culinary heads together, the Dancing Elephant was born. There’s lots to learn about this active, ancient way of life and it can get intense. In case you don’t have time to dive deep, we did the research and developed recipes so that you don’t have to. What did we come up with? A modern and convenient take on the classic Ayurvedic meals that we grew up eating— starting with the quintessential dish of dishes, Kitchari.
At The Dancing Elephant, our vision is to make Ayurveda accessible and convenient for everyone. We believe that Ayurveda is not just a way of life but a way to live life to the fullest. Our mission is to provide modern and convenient takes on classic Ayurvedic meals that are easy to prepare and delicious to eat. We want to help people incorporate Ayurveda into their daily lives so they can feel their best every day.
To that end, we’re excited to announce that we’ve teamed up with Fairway Market in New York City to bring the best of Ayurveda straight to your neighborhood!
